Our Story

Though not quite as old as the logging trains that once rumbled through the region, Singletrack Cycles has been a fixture in the Snoqualmie Valley long before it became one of Washington’s premier mountain biking destinations. Founded in downtown Snoqualmie as the Valley Bike Rack in 1994, Singletrack Cycles has long been the area’s leading full-service bicycle shop—one with a history of giving back to the community it calls home. We love providing great service not only in North Bend but also in the nearby towns of Snoqualmie, Issaquah, and Sammamish.

Singletrack Cycles received its current name in 2000, when prior owners Diane and Loren Morris purchased the store. Four years later, the shop moved to its current location in downtown North Bend, nearly tripling its retail space and becoming the top local dealer for Trek and Specialized. Together with wife Stephanie, local mountain biking enthusiast and long-time customer Erik Alston acquired the store in 2016 and immediately began an extensive remodel.

Under the Alstons’ ownership, Singletrack Cycles has not only grown as a bicycle retailer but has also expanded its commitment to the community. As a longtime sponsor of the Tanner Jeans Bike Rodeo, Singletrack Cycles has provided thousands of free safety checks for children since the event’s inception in 2004. Singletrack Cycles has also been a decade-long contributor to the Bikes for Books program and is a sponsor of the Mt. Si High School MTB Team and North Bend Bike Rodeo. Beginning in 2016, bikes received on trade or through donation are given a full tune-up and then donated at the end of the year as part of an annual Holiday Kids Bike Drive. Singletrack Cycles donated 21 kids bikes in December 2017 and plans to increase the number going forward. Similarly, the shop accepts donated adult bikes throughout the year and works with local nonprofits to place them with those in need.

Why We Ride

We ride for the freedom to explore. We ride for the thrill and for the friendships made. We ride because we can’t imagine not knowing what’s around the next bend. For us, our bikes aren’t just for transportation or exercise; they’re also an escape. And we love that about them.

All of us at Singletrack Cycles believe the world is a better place when viewed from the seat of a bicycle. This belief hammers the cranks of our passion, pushing us forward every day. It’s not only why we ride, but it's also why our shop is committed to getting you back in the saddle as fast as possible. We know every day without your bike is a day lost.

Our welcoming staff of cyclists is here to ensure you get the most out of your bicycle. We know cycling is more than just a hobby or sport; it’s a lifestyle. That’s why we've adopted trails, donate our expertise to the community, and spend every moment we can riding throughout the Pacific Northwest.

The hard part’s done: you’ve made it to one of the world’s great cycling destinations. Now let us help you continue on that journey. Stop in to say hi, browse our selection of new bicycles, get some trail advice, or take one of our awesome demo bikes for a spin. No matter your needs, if you’re wanting to ride, we’ve got you covered.
