Service Tech:
The ideal candidate should possess excellent interpersonal skills to assist customers in a professional and courteous manner. They should have a proficiency in bicycle mechanics and a strong commitment to delivering assignments and projects that align with the high-quality standards set by Singletrack Cycles.
Primary job duties include but are not limited to:
- Complete bicycle service work orders within the promised turnaround time
- All service packages from basic to comprehensive
- A la carte services per service menu including, but not limited to: Tire/tube replacements; Cable and housing replacement; Adjust/repair derailleurs; Adjust/repair brakes; Replace/repair shifters; Replace chain, cassette, bar tape/grips; Wheel true and dish; Drivetrain cleaning; Disc brake and dropper post service; Inspect and assess frame and components for damage or replacement
- Suspension Service
- Assemble new bike
- Achieve minimum service goals
- Customer experience excellence
- Be friendly and available while interacting with customers; providing answers on maintenance and related sales opportunities
- Complete a training program which involves in-store training as well as paid, internet-based training
- Perform minor repairs on the spot whenever possible
- Maintain an organized, clean work area
- Complete other tasks as assigned by the Service Manager
- Learn, understand and adhere to company policy, programs and standards
Secondary Job Duties:
- Interact with customers and provide exemplary customer service; educate customers about bicycles, bicycle accessories and clothing, and any other cycling-related products in the store
- Assist in the daily operations of the store, including restocking, cleaning, organizing and merchandising
The ideal candidate:
- At least 2 years of mechanical experience in a professional bike shop environment working on a wide variety of bicycles
- Must be proficient in repairing new as well as older and vintage bicycles to the highest standard
- Is detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Has excellent organizational skills — systems oriented with high attention to detail
- Has the ability to work competently with computers, AscendRMS experience preferred.
- Has a working knowledge of bicycles and their mechanical parts
- Is capable of safely lifting and carrying 50lbs on a regular basis
- Is intrinsically motivated, able to work both independently and as a member of a team, and thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Ensures cleanliness and monitors maintenance of facility then provides input to both the Service Manager and Owner
Wage:
- $16 - $19/Hour with additional bonus opportunities
